Alexander Wurm, 53, and his daughter Serena Wurm, 22, tragically lost their lives on November 10, 2025, while on a humanitarian mission to deliver relief supplies to Jamaica. The father and daughter were aboard a turboprop aircraft that crashed into a retention pond shortly after takeoff from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport in Coral Springs, FL.

The two were part of a mission organized by the Ignite the Fire Ministry, an evangelical outreach founded by Alexander Wurm, which works to bring faith and aid to communities across the Caribbean. Alexander, known for his warmth and kindness, dedicated his life to humanitarian service, and Serena followed in his footsteps, touching lives with her empathy and commitment.

The crash occurred in the Windsor Bay gated community, narrowly missing homes but causing significant damage to a backyard fence. Emergency responders confirmed there were no survivors. Despite the devastation, no one on the ground was injured. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the cause of the crash.
