Jackson Grooms, 23, of Bloomfield, IA, Dies Suddenly at Home, Leaving Family and Friends Devastated
Jackson Eugene Grooms, a vibrant 23-year-old from Bloomfield, Iowa, tragically passed away on November 9, 2025, at his home. Known for his love of the outdoors, Jackson's passion for activities like golfing, motocross, and photography was a defining part of his life.
Born on November 12, 2001, in Ottumwa, Iowa, Jackson was a 2020 graduate of Ottumwa High School and worked at Coil Spot Metal Wholesale. He was known for his impeccable fashion sense and his meticulous care of his possessions, even washing his truck twice a day. Jackson's love for music and spending time with his family and friends brought joy to all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Todd and Megan Grooms, two sisters, Ellie Harris and Macy Wilfawn, as well as a nephew, Noah Wilfawn. Jackson also leaves behind his significant other, Alexandra Watson, and his grandparents, Rick and Judy Grooms, and Deborah Poole Burns. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joan Williamson, and grandfather, Michael Poole.
The community mourns the loss of such a promising young soul, and family members are requesting that memorials be made to the family to be designated at a later date. A visitation to honor Jackson will be held on Sunday, November 16th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa.
