April Preciado Tragically Dies in Fatal Car Crash on Interstate 10 in Las Cruces, NM
April Preciado, a 27-year-old woman from Las Cruces, New Mexico, tragically lost her life in a fatal pedestrian-vehicle accident early Sunday morning, September 28, 2025.
The collision occurred around 5:00 AM on Interstate 10 East near mile marker 136. According to the New Mexico State Police, Preciado was struck by a FedEx delivery truck while walking on the highway. Despite immediate medical response, she was pronounced dead at the scene by the Medical Investigator's Office.
The driver of the FedEx truck, who was traveling eastbound, did not sustain any injuries. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Preciado’s sudden death has left her family, friends, and the Las Cruces community in deep sorrow.
In a Facebook post, a close friend shared, "April was always full of life and light, and we will miss her deeply." Details of the memorial service will be announced by her family in the coming days.
