Jody M. Rinderer and Victoria L. Goss Tragically Lose Their Lives in Pontoon Beach Crash
Two lives were tragically lost in a fatal accident on the evening of September 19th in Pontoon Beach, Illinois. Jody M. Rinderer, 47, and Victoria L. Goss, 32, were both pronounced dead after a violent collision along the 5000 block of Illinois State Route 162.
According to the Madison County Coroner's Office, Rinderer was driving a Chevrolet Silverado when the crash occurred. The collision was so intense that the truck caught fire shortly after impact. Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, Rinderer could not be saved and was declared dead at the scene.
Goss, who had been driving a Buick Enclave, was pulled from her vehicle alive and rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, despite all medical efforts, she later succumbed to her injuries.
A passenger in Goss’s vehicle was also injured in the crash but survived. Authorities have not yet disclosed the identity or condition of the passenger.
This heartbreaking accident has left family, friends, and the community in mourning. Local officials have expressed condolences, emphasizing the emotional toll such tragedies take on everyone involved.
The Illinois State Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision, with efforts focused on analyzing evidence and determining contributing factors.
