Tuscaloosa Mourns the Loss of Kaliyah Houston and Her Sister in Tragic Shooting at Woodlawn Manor

Tuscaloosa, Ala. — The community of Tuscaloosa is in mourning following a tragic incident on Monday, November 10, when a shooting took the lives of two sisters, Kaliyah Houston, 20, and her 16-year-old sister, in the Woodlawn Manor neighborhood.

The shooting occurred late at night, around 11:30 p.m., when a 911 call was made from the area of 3820 1st Avenue. Police arrived to find three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate efforts of first responders, Kaliyah and her sister were pronounced dead at the scene. A 17-year-old male, also injured in the shooting, was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
