Billy Wayne Wright, Beloved Father and Friend, Passes Away in Pikeville, TN at Age 56
Billy Wayne Wright, a cherished father and friend, passed away peacefully on November 9th, 2025, in Pikeville, Tennessee, surrounded by his loving family. He was 56 years old.
Known for his warm sense of humor and love for his family, Billy Wayne enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, and visiting yard sales. He was also passionate about digging roots and enjoying simple pleasures with those he loved.
Billy Wayne’s family remembers him fondly as a generous and caring individual who always found time for others. He is preceded in death by his father, Wayne Kenneth Wright, and his companion, Sharon Smith, among other close relatives.
In his memory, Billy Wayne leaves behind his children: Amanda Wright, Alma Smith, Brittany Newby, Ariel Freeman, Kendra McMillen, Justin Wright, Chris Smith, Kent Yeagley, and Bryon Yeagley. He is also survived by his mother, Virginia Gail Crawford Wright Stafford, as well as siblings, nieces, nephews, and many friends. His grandchildren, including Kane Yeagley, Payton Wright, and Kendall Hutcheson Swafford, will also miss him deeply.
A celebration of Billy Wayne’s life will take place at the Pikeville Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 11th, 2025, at 3:00pm CST, with Bro. Scotty Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pikeville City Cemetery.
The Pikeville community mourns the loss of a truly remarkable person. His legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
