Jacob Jesus Hernandez, 15, Tragically Dies in Fatal Shooting in Bakersfield, CA
Jacob Jesus Hernandez, a 15-year-old from Bakersfield, California, tragically passed away on September 26, 2025, following a shooting in the eastern part of the city.
At approximately 11:42 p.m., the Bakersfield Police Department responded to a shooting report at the intersection of Highland Knolls Drive and Morning Drive. Upon arrival, they found two adolescent males suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were quickly transported to a medical facility, but sadly, Jacob did not survive his injuries. The other teen, a 16-year-old, was reported to have sustained only minor injuries.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office confirmed Jacob’s identity, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing under the direction of the homicide unit.
Jacob’s passing has left the Bakersfield community heartbroken, as friends, family, and loved ones mourn the loss of a young life taken too soon.
