Oliver Jefferson, 86, Dies Following House Fire in Macon, GA

Oliver Jefferson, an 86-year-old man from Macon, Georgia, has tragically passed away after sustaining severe burns in a house fire. The incident took place on the evening of Sunday, September 28th, at a residence on Hartridge Drive.

Despite immediate efforts by the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department to control the blaze, Mr. Jefferson was critically injured. Emergency responders rushed him to a specialized burn center in Augusta, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries on the afternoon of Monday, September 29th.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones confirmed the cause of death as the result of the severe burns Mr. Jefferson suffered in the fire. Authorities are still investigating the origin of the blaze.

"Oliver was a kind and respected individual, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him," shared a family friend in an online tribute.
